Celebrating Year Three!

As most of you know, I have been looking for people to go out and pray for others with. For a long time, people have been saying they are interested, but by the time we connect and make a plan, it falls through. That’s about to change though! Just the other week, my friend texted me and told me he really wants to do this, and was looking for someone else who also was passionate about praying for others. Another friend of ours who graduated from our d1sciplesh1p program last year is going out every week and has asked if I wanted to join. My answer was, ‘yes of course!’ Now there will now be a small group of us who will be doing this. A huge answer to prayer!

Last month I celebrated my third year since moving overseas!! It is so crazy how fast time goes. Sometimes it’s hard to look back and realize how much I have learned both in language and culture. It’s far easier for me to acknowledge how much more there is to learn than to feel accomplished in how far I’ve come. When I do take the time to think back on my first months here, it’s hard for me to remember how foreign everything felt. Thank you so much to all of you who make this possible! Your prayers and finances really do matter!! Thank you again.

For the next couple weeks, I have a friend visiting, and some of you may know her. I will be showing her around some of this beautiful country. Prayers for safe travels would be appreciated.

This past month I have been connecting more with a girl that my friend got me in touch with who is from a different city but living here for school. She is slowly figuring out this big city. Could you imagine coming from a city of a hundred thousand people to a city of over five million? Pretty insane, hey? I have met with her a couple times now, and she has been able to meet some of my local believing friends. The past couple times we met, she has had no shortage of questions related to our Father. My believing friends have been able to answer her questions and explain more to her about what it means to be a follower of Jesus. A few weeks ago, she even came to church for the first time ever. Afterwards, we spent the afternoon together answering more of her questions. I am thankful for the opportunity to be apart of this new friend’s journey.

In the midst of traveling, I have continued to build relationships with the students of our discipleship school here. It has been so fun having such a wonderful group of young adults here now. My community is growing and I couldn’t be happier! We are very multi-cultural when we are all together, since there is people from neighboring countries, Europe, and Canada, of course. It has been such an encouragement to see them grow in just a few short months. I am looking forward to doing life with them over the next while, and seeing what the Father does in and through them.
