On this year’s 103rd Republic of Estonia  Anniversary series,  Delphi,   Estonian National News Services,  focuses on the outstanding good people among us, benefactors. These are 103 prominent Estonians whose actions have entered our hearts, especially in the past, difficult corona year.

What other better time than now,  to recognize people who have stood out with some good deed, been true selfless volunteers somewhere, helped or defended the weak, spoke to those who cannot stand up for themselves, been particularly generous or helped frontline workers during the coronary epidemic, and so on.   They all deserve our recognition!

Märt Vähi co-founded the Village of Hope in Harju County in 2000, where he helps those from the evils of alcohol and drug addiction.

Vähi’s work has found many awards and recognitions in the field of social work for more than two decades. In 2014, the President of Estonia awarded the Bishop Emeritus of the Estonian Christian Pentecostal Church with the 3rd class Order of the Red Cross.
