Hello friends & family,
I hope you are doing well! It seems as though time has been going by so quickly. Isn’t there a saying that the days are long but the months/years go by so fast? This is feeling true in this season.
We had the chance to meet with the couple we have been discipling. It was great to connect again in person rather than over text. We had such an encouraging time together! I want to ask for prayer for them—they are preparing for marriage in the next coming months, and she recently found a new job that seems like it will be a better fit for her.
Please pray that she is able to make the transition between jobs easily.
Unfortunately, Roni and I had covid (again) and have just recently gotten out of quarantine. This time our symptoms were not as bad as the first, but I can tell our bodies still need time to recover.
Please pray for our health and that our energy will be restored.
I had a special opportunity to help out at a refugee center during one of the ladies’ meetings. I was able to connect with a worker family who has recently moved to my city from a nearby country. They are wanting to start some form of ministry here, but are still in the beginning stages of what that could look like.
My friend and I went to help watch the kids while others met with the moms—drinking tea and connecting with one another.
It was so wonderful to have the opportunity to love on these kids who have been through so much trauma. In the short amount of time that we spent with the kids, we could see how they began to open up and trust us. One little girl (at the end) ran up and hugged each of us and gave us her special flowers. Although I do not speak their native language, we are still able to connect through the common language I do speak.
I am looking forward to returning to help and see how the Lord will use this ministry.
Please pray for this family who is in the beginning stages of figuring out what ministry here should look like.
Some comments from the women that were encouraging:
“There is just something different, so full of love in each of the ladies who work here. That’s why I wanted to come back.”
“What we really need is something to help our spirits, our hearts.”
“We barely have enough money to buy bread for our family, much less to buy these kinds of treats to be able to invite guests over to chat together.”
Since Roni & I are the only teammates in our city we can be very lonely at times—so, we have just recently started a community group! Our goal is to fellowship, pray together, worship, and encourage connection and community among fellow believers.
Please keep us in prayer as we are in the beginning stages of meeting together.
As always thank you so much for partnering with us as we do the work the Lord has called us to.
We could not do this without you! We would love to hear from you and know how you are doing!
Much Love,
