In Global Stories

We say “YES” to decorations up in November, turkey & fixin’s, stockings hung “by the chimney with care,” Christmas Eve Service, the company of family & friends, twinkle lights, and the Christmas story in the Bible. I think we love Christmas!

What Christmas treat would you like to find in your stocking on Christmas morning?

Dark chocolate, peanut butter, and scented candles—Veronica

Candies, Kinder eggs, slime, and stickers—K

Coffee, coffee, and coffee—Ron

Christmas usually involves good food! Tell us about a shared meal with someone…

We have had the privilege of sharing Christmas with people that do not know anything about Christmas! We’ve been able to share a meal with them, share the reason why we celebrate Christmas, and have a fun gift exchange game as well.

What is the ugliest Christmas ornament you’ve ever seen?

Ornaments that are decorated with sports teams/logos.

Can you tell us about something that brings you HOPE?

We find hope in the promises of God—His word is true and that gives us hope!

How do you keep Christ in Christmas?

Where we live, Christmas isn’t celebrated which makes it a lot easier to focus on the true meaning of Christmas…no commercialism.

Why was baby Jesus called Saviour? (Luke 2:11)

He is the Messiah, the Lord.

What is your Christmas miracle?

This year, our miracle is to be in Canada—spending time with our children and grandchildren—we’ve not been able to do that in over 5 years!

Thinking back over the year, what has been the stand-out Word from God that keeps showing up in your life?

That He is faithful to his promises. If God said it, I believe it and that settles it. He has kept on encouraging us through his word, time and time again. When all looks hopeless, he makes a way!

Is there someone that you would like us to pray for over Christmas?

Our family—being away from family over the holidays has been very difficult for us over the years, we are very excited to come to Canada this December.
