✔️Christmas story in the Bible

What Christmas treat would you like to find in your stocking on Christmas morning?

We’re not sure if there will be stockings this year, but if there are…

The treat would be fruit-flavored jellied candy!

And we have seen them around our city so there’s a good chance they could end up as a Christmas treat.

Christmas usually involves good food! Tell us about a shared meal with someone…

For our first Christmas here in our new country, the plan is to share a meal with other workers and teammates.

Many of the locals are interested in how we celebrate Christmas, so we hope that they will join us in the festivities. The meal will be traditional with a twist of local cuisine.

What is the ugliest Christmas ornament you’ve ever seen?

Not sure about the ugliest ornament but the most beautiful ornaments are the ones made by our children long ago when they were young children. Some people may not see the beauty—haha!

Can you tell us about something that brings you HOPE?

An understanding that Christ in me is the hope of Glory.

How do you keep Christ in Christmas?

Meditate on the miracle of God come in flesh during the season. Also, the mission that He fulfilled when He was with us!

Why was baby Jesus called Saviour? (Luke 2:11)

It was foretold that He would come as a child.

Over 700 years before Jesus was born, the prophet Isaiah spoke of the birth of Jesus—Emmanuel—God with us.

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

What is your Christmas miracle?

Encounters with Jesus – near and far – from our families to the nations.

Thinking back over the year, what has been the stand-out Word from God that keeps showing up in your life?

Wait on the Lord and He will do it.

Is there someone that you would like us to pray for over Christmas?

Our neighbors and the neighborhood that we live in.

Final thoughts…

Jesus gave up heaven for us…what will we do for Him & who will we be for Him?

In the busyness of the season, it is so easy to forget the Reason for the Season. I pray we can all remember Who we are celebrating and share with friends, family, and strangers.

Merry Christmas,

Wendell & Maureen
