Disciples who make disciples.
Thank you for your continued prayer and support. We would not be able to do this without you, and we are so grateful.
Many of you have contacted us and asked us if we are impacted by the current war. We wanted to let you know that we have not been negatively affected, as we are not directly involved. We are safe.
We are also coming back to Canada for the months of June-August this year! We look forward to seeing and reconnecting with many of you! If your church/small group would like us to come and share what God has been doing here, or would like to know more about how to reach the unreached within your community, please let us know!
We feel like these last several months have flown by quickly and have been grateful for the many opportunities that have come up. The last week of January had us co-leading a youth event that stretched over two days. We brought youth together from four different churches across our province and spent time praying, worshipping, hearing testimonies, and encouraging the youth in their walk with God. The event went so well that we hosted another one during the beginning of March, which also went well. Many of these youth come from believing families, although not all of them are sure about their own walk with God. This was a great time for them to connect with other youth who are choosing to follow Jesus and be encouraged by each other. One youth said, “Now I know I’m not the only one.”
These events, together with the weekly youth group nights we lead, have opened many opportunities to have meaningful conversations with these teens. They are asking deep questions such as “How do I know if I am saved?” “How do I pray?” “What do I do when my peers mock me for following Jesus?” “How do I control my temper?” etc. We are continually looking for more ways to spend time with these teens and walk with them through these years as they wrestle through whether or not they will follow Jesus. One teen, after we talked about how the joys of following Jesus also include persecution, went back to her school more bold about sharing her faith and less afraid of the mocking and ridicule she had been experiencing.
Working with the youth has also opened up opportunities to spend time with local pastors, as well as several young adults who have stepped up to help.
During the month of Ramadan and the feasting that follows, we had many opportunities to share with neighbours about the gospel, fasting, and how Jesus is different. They were curious about our holidays and invited themselves over to experience Easter!
We have had an incredible opportunity to get to know the family of one of L’s classmates. Through the many hours we have spent with them, we have been able to openly share the gospel as well as demonstrate a Christ-centered marriage and family. They have asked many questions and opened up about personal struggles and fears.
For over a year A has been asking for prayer to have a local believer to partner with in reaching further into the unreached areas of our province. During the past several weeks, he has connected more with a local pastor, who has expressed interest in working together. We have also been approached by the local church with multiple opportunities for young adult events and English group ideas for possible outreach. Please pray for us as we navigate the opportunities given to us so that we may use them wisely.
Springtime is when we help with multiple camps, as the weather is warming up but not yet too hot. We hope to help with at least two or three camps before our trip to Canada. The aim of these camps is to delve into deeper conversations about God with young believers and seekers, and to encourage one another.
